Since 1900, the Altar Guild / Flower Guild of Washington National Cathedral has provided support for the preparation of nearly 1,500 regularly scheduled worship services each year. More than one hundred volunteers offer their time and skill for weekly services, special festivals, and for other important events held throughout the year.
In 1996, 1999, and 2005, the Guild, under the leadership of Linda Roeckelein, created a Cathedral exhibits for the prestigious, by-invitation-only, Philadelphia Flower Show.
The Altar Guild / Flower Guild is responsible for overseeing the altar and overall Cathedral flower arrangements, as well as the care of the altar linens and needlepoint.
