Preaching Conferences

For almost 80 years, the Cathedral College has served as the pre-eminent center of continuing education dedicated to strengthening and sustaining those called to ministries of proclamation. Join us for these richly inspiring residential conferences and retreats. General information about preaching conferences is available here.

With enormous regret, we must announce that the residential program operations of the Cathedral College will be suspended as of April 1, 2009. This decision was made in the face of severe economic challenges faced by the Cathedral which forced the suspension and elimination of many of its programs and activities. For further information about the financial situation and the programs affected, please read this statement.

Conferences through March plus the two overseas pilgrimages From Enda’s Island to Kevin’s Glen—the birthplace of Irish Christianity: A Pilgrimage to Ireland (May 24–June 5, 2009) and The Eagle and the Dove: A Pilgrimage to Brittany (September 27–October 8, 2009) are open for registration and slated to proceed as scheduled. Please note a newly added conference: The Art of the Homily (March 9–13, 2009). Please also note: City of God for American Cities: Reinventing the Urban Church (originally scheduled at Cathedral College June 6–11) has now been rescheduled at Washington Theological Union, June 6–10.

Those already registered for conferences after April 1 will be sent a full refund of registration deposits and payments made thus far. For questions regarding existing registrations please call the College Registrar at (202) 537-6381. We deeply regret that these actions were necessary and extend our thanks to all who have participated in past College programs.
