Martha's Table Ministry

Event image

Drop-off location is Hearst Circle.

Fifteen minutes in your own kitchen, once a month, will help feed homeless men, women, and families in our area. Martha's Table operates McKenna's Wagon, a soup kitchen that offers a nutritious daily meal to the homeless of downtown D.C.

For over 20 years, Martha's Table has relied upon Cathedral volunteers to prepare and collect sandwiches and fruit for distribution through McKenna's Wagon on the third Sunday of every month.

Easy to chew fruit is particularly welcome. We consistently average about 1200 sandwiches each month. Help us increase our average; the need is greater than ever.

Drop off your sandwiches and fruit from 8:30 to 11:15 am on Hearst Circle, the little circular drive that goes around and above the entrance to the Cathedral parking garage. Turn off Wisconsin Avenue as if you were going into the garage, but instead bear right to go around Hearst Circle. You'll see the van in the circle.

For more information, email coordinators Sid Hurlburt and Lee Ann Ghajar. Sandwich makers, food collectors, and drivers are needed. Click here for instructions.

Parking at the Cathedral

Parking in the Cathedral’s underground garage is free on Sundays for services and organ recitals; parking for concerts and programs is available for an event-parking fee. Learn more about parking options for individuals and groups.
